Durante casi una d\u00e9cada (entre 1993 y 2002) dirigi\u00f3 la empresa, el mayor fabricante de autom\u00f3viles del mundo, despu\u00e9s de lo cual presidi\u00f3 su \u00f3rgano supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>El ingeniero austr\u00edaco sufri\u00f3 un ataque el domingo en un restaurante de la localidad b\u00e1vara de Rosenheim, donde resid\u00eda. Inici\u00f3 su carrera en 1963 precisamente en la empresa Porsche, pasando por Audi (actualmente propiedad de VW), donde se convirti\u00f3 en director general, antes de dirigir Volkswagen.
